Laksha Block-Print Scarf

This 100% soft cotton scarf was hand made by artisans who used traditional methods passed down from generation to generation.

Creating the scarf involved hand carving a pattern onto a wooden block then using the block to hand-stamp onto the fabric. A different block was used for each color detail in the design.

Each region of India has a different style of block-printing on scarves, as well as each family having their own specific collection of wooden blocks.

Yet, each scarf showcases a beautiful time-honored skill. This particular scarf was made in Rajasthan, India.
